Synopsis
With the exception of the Grand Canyon itself, none of the great gorges of the American Southwest is more uniquely beautiful than Canyon de Chelly, with its sheer red cliffs and innumerable prehistoric Indian dwellings. Of all the important centers of prehistoric Anasazi culture, only this magnificent canyon shows an unbroken record of settlement for more than 1,000 years. In this liberally illustrated book, rock art authority Campbell Grant examines four aspects of the spectacular canyon: its physical characteristics, its history of human habitation, its explorers and archaeologists, and its countless rock paintings and petroglyphs. Grant surveys 96 sites in the two main canyons and offers an interpretation of the rock art found there., With the exception of the Grand Canyon itself, none of the great gorges of the American Southwest is more uniquely beautiful than Canyon de Chelly, with its sheer red cliffs and innumerable prehistoric Indian dwellings. - e***e (136)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufI bought 2 lots of books from this seller; both were shipped in the same box, so I'll just repeat the feedback I left for the other half of the order: Superb packaging! I've been collecting old paperbacks for ... well, a long time, and these were the best-wrapped, best protected, best shipped box 'o books I've ever received! The books themselves were exactly as described in the photos, and the per-book value (using the advanced mathematics formula: total price / no. of books) was wonderfulJohn Dickson Carr Lot of 11 Paperback Books Mystery Crime with Dark Of The Moon (Nr. 297223970215)
- 2***f (311)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThe listing was accurate with clear photos. The book was carefully wrapped. For the price, it's in good shape. I intend on reading it rather than just collecting or selling. Thanks for the eBay coupon. The issue I had was USPS's media shipping, something Lola Rose Books has no control over. This item left LRB (New Mexico) on Aug. 8. From there, it went to Albuquerque, Jersey City, Richmond, Newport News, Richmond, Norfolk, VA Beach, Richmond, Norfolk, and back to VB on Aug. 19.
