    Great writing, great history of extinctions!

    Elizabeth Kolbert is one of the great writers for The New Yorker magazine, and she spans the history of the major extinction events in this book, starting with the earliest, and ending with the human-caused, sixth mass extinction taking place currently. She fills in scientific details, as she followed real scientists around the globe to write her story. She is also great at historical writing and the book reads like a page-turner. Essential reading for knowing the history of the death of species since the beginning and why they happened.

    A must read for every climate change-denying clown in Washington DC [Oh! I forgot; most of them don't even read the bills they sign.]

    This is one of several excellent books out there written in a way to make the climate crisis understandable to all of us casual readers. Highly recommend it.
