Used to play this back in the 1990's and always found it interesting and suspenseful. Fast-forward to 2017, and my wife wants to play this again. What I didn't realize is that these old games don't run on Windows 10. I had to install scummVM on her computer to get Riven to run on Win10. The graphics were not as great as I though I remembered, so I installed it on my old test desktop running WinXP and the graphics were the same there. I guess back in the 90s this was cutting edge, but compared to today's graphics it's pretty bad. I also forgot that movement was all done by clicking in a direction and the scene changes to that new view. It's not like todays sims where you can change your view in any direction and move in any direction and any different speeds. Still it's a classic from it's time. This is by no means a negative comment against the seller. They represented the product truthfully and shipped quickly. Thanks!
Better in every way than the CD release. Not only does it eliminate the hassle of swapping between five disks, but the video quality is higher on top of that. "The Making of Riven" isn't as much of a draw now that anyone can just watch it on YouTube, but it's cool to have regardless. Plus, there's a lot of novelty in a DVD-ROM game with a Windows 95 logo on the box.
