Excellent sci-fi series
i loved watching this series back in the 90's great entertainment. perhaps a little cheesy for some peoples taste. but i love this show and consider it to be better than some of the rubbish TV shows made nowadays. it's a pity about the packaging not being the best just plain cheap cardboard envelopes. it's best to put them into DVD cases and photo copy the back and front of the box to make covers to put into each case. this way you can avoid the DVD's getting scratched. An easy Slide
Creative and attention getting. Scifi alternate reality stories base on what if scenarios pertaining to history and classic events found in the genre of fiction (all media). Would also recommend Quantum Leap tv series.

Outstanding bang for the buck
Sliders is filed with action, tongue in cheek humor and some occasional social commentary. The characters are very engaging. Even though it's a sci-fi series, it's very character focused. The visual effects hold up surprisingly well for a series produced on a modest budget over 20 years ago. This a Mill Creek release. They specialize in repackaged, budget friendly releases of movies and TV shows, This is where I dock it one star. There are more episodes per disc than the original studio releases, meaning a reduced bit rate which yields a softer image. The picture quality is acceptable. I have watched the whole first season and there were no bonus features. There may be some yet. I'll see as I move through the whole series. The disc menus are bare bones. I like the packaging. It's a slipcover with 8 cardboard sleeves holding two discs each. The sleeves are tight fitting, so the discs won't fall out when you pull out a sleeve. The whole series only takes up 1 inch of shelf space. I never missed an episode of this when it originally aired, and I'm happy to say I'm enjoying it as much, if not more, than I did back then. It holds up well. If you are willing to put up with slightly reduced image quality in a bare bones package, you will get many hours of great entertainment at an incredibly low price.

Sliders is a term for the way Quinn Mallory has found a way to open a travelling portal to alternative same planet Earth but in different times and ways of the home planet he starts from. The 1st season wasn't very engaging even with the actors doing the best they can to support the stories. The 2nd season gets better with more stories that you want to follow their journey. As the seasons continue, some of the stories are excellently written. I haven't finished the entire series yet but these stories can be quite dark tales. They were ahead of their time and Jerry O'Connell states that "SLIDERS" found a home on dvd and cable networks. Unlike "Quantum Leap" these stories hop around so you don't know how the next show will begin. The soundtrack isn't one that you would remember for ... Love this kind of show - all episodes of 5 seasons. Looks & sounds great.
Watched the pilot only yet but looks & sounds great. I probably saw most of these at the time but forget it all now lol, which is an advantage getting these. Going to be a fun time watching them. The price is a great deal, a lot of adventure, danger, humor, crazy Sci-Fi possibilities. Recommended.
