new views on historic battle
This AI stuff, CGI, can really enhance movies when certain props are not available. Being able to show the types of airplanes involved, the ships, troops and locations as they looked in the early 1940s can be quite realistic using these tools. However, those using these computer tools can also get a little enthusiastic, sometimes giving comic book maneuvers and actions to the various weapon systems. Midway's 8 Martin B-26 Marauders multiplied to over 16, with one looking almost like a kamikaze attack on a Japanese warship after being shot down. There are a lot of historic pictures of the B-25s on the USS Hornet on the way to attack Japan in the Doolittle Raid, and yet the CGI images show a very different parking pattern. Plus the B-25 models had the upper turret mid section until the ... This AI stuff, CGI, can really enhance movies when certain props are not available. So there are inaccuracies, but at least the CGI images were NOT any of the US heavy 4 engine bombers used in all theaters of the war. The story told in this version is somewhat close to history, but with a few minor deviations, some listed above. For those not familiar with the story, this movie will at least give a decent view of the first year of the war that started with the December 7 attack on Pearl Harbor. Some of CGI attack scenes were imaginative, but the majority remained fairly faithful to the pictures and stories told for almost a century in movies, still pictures and survivor interviews. For the novice that has not heard of the history of the first 7 months of war, this is a good introduction to the history. For that, I recommend the movie. Especially now that history books cover WWII on 2 pages, not nearly enough information given and the details of this most important war.

Love this movie because it's based on a true story about how the alies came out with revenge on the Japanese rebels after the suprise attack on pearl harbor. Mostly thanks to Lt. Col. James Doolittle and crew who flew over a dozen B25 twin engine bombers that struck Tokyo and was supposed to land in free China but ran out of fuel and instead of ditching in the China sea, they've landed in Japanese occupied territory and some made it alive and others became the Japanese rebels' POWs. (Prisoners Of War). They've all came from pearl harbor to stop the Japanese rebels from taking over midway. An island nation between Hawaii and japan. And in 1945, thanks to Adolf Hitler committing suicide and the 2 nuclear bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the German nazis and the Japanese rebels all signed ... One of the best remakes next to Pearl harbor the movie came brand new and sealed totally awesome I get the guy that sent this to me 100%, and I give the directors and producers of this movie 100%, totally action-packed totally awesome special effects was awesome I recommend anybody to buy this DVD if you'd like good action this is the movie for you and if you haven't seen the remake of Pearl harbor you need to see it cuz it was awesome too the special effects was intense in both moviesOne of the best remakes next to Pearl harbor the movie came brand new and sealed totally awesome I get the guy that sent this to me 100%, and I give the directors and producers of this movie 100%, totally action-packed totally awesome special effects was awesome I recommend anybody to buy this DVD if you'd like good action this is the movie for you and if you haven't seen the remake of Pearl harbor you need to see it cuz it was awesome too the special effects was intense in both movies

Good but to many characters
As a movie this is engaging. It does however try to cover to much ground with to many characters. I kept forgetting who characters were and confusing one for another. Would have been much better a a multi part cable series.
