It is raised so the water runs right through it plus it doesn't scratch my stainless steel sink. This size is not the easiest to find so I bought 4 of them so I will have a backup whenever it wears out or accidentally gets damaged. They aren't heavy but I feel like the shipping cost was this price beause there were 4 of them. At this price, it is definitely worth a try!
