An excellent book for the truck enthusiast.
This book contains over 300 colour photos of trucks plying their trade in the UK in the 1980's, all taken by David Wakefield. The composition of the photos (two to a page) is consistent - a front "three quarter" view and the vehicles fil the frame. No artistic close-ups or moody scenic shots! The picture reproduction is very good, bearing in mind the pre-digital nature of the material. Informative captions are provided by Nick ireland. Mainly European manufacturers are featured, but the odd American truck appears for interest. It is split into chapters depending on the type of vehicle and is a lovely trip down memory lane, with many of the hauliers now long gone. Hard bound, with a gloss cover and very good quality paper. If you have any interest in HGV's from 4 decades ago, or like me you are a truck modeller, this book is well worth having. Highly recommended!
