Compelling reading
Full of Gullah stories as well as recipes. This book gives a glimpse of life among Gullah-speaking people of SC low country. Having grown up among many Gullah speakers, I was taken back to hearing their voices over the years.

Gullah Cuisine Cookbook
I lived in Charleston South Carolina for over eight years. This is hands down the best Gullah cookbook. Most of them have unusual recipes with hard to find ingredients outside the area, and do not have measurements, hard to guess the amounts. I wish that I could give this book more stars.
