Big help in building a camp fire!
I have to admit that these turned out to be smaller than I expected (about 1½" tall). However, that does make them easier to carry in your backpack! I teach my Scouts that as long as you have something that will burn for 5 to 10 minutes, you can start a fire -- even in a wet environment. To demo this, I usually set fire to a small handful of corn chips, pour water over my tinder, then slowly add the wet tender to the fire. These strikeable fire starters should work the same way -- although I haven't tried them during a rain yet. I also plan on using them to help me start my Solo Stove, since the bottom is large enough to keep it from falling through the wire mesh at the bottom of the stove.
