    Technology and special features bring this era into your home/ space

    History. Modern film techniques. Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings effort and care. This, for any history buff and student of human interaction on this planet, the human condition, gives rise to thoughts as to how the loss of lives in their youth was/ is? so 'unavoidable'. It's format and presentation emphasize the paradox. Rage against the machine. Witness mortal destiny? Honor the humans whose 'duty', beliefs, and resignation to their fate and their faith are testimony that we can 'get through this'. Evidence to modern eyes with modern arts. Thought provoking without preaching. A moving color snapshot that took months and years to organize and present, not withstanding the courage it took to crank the cameras in-the-field at the time.     An unbelievable film not to be missed!

    An awesome film!! Anyone with any interest in World War One needs to see "They Shall Not Grow Old"; they will be blown-away by what they view. Archival footage taken with hand-cranked cameras over 100 years ago has been painstakingly transformed and colorized into a 99 minute film that looks as if it was shot yesterday. This video shows what life and death was like during the "war to end all wars". The dazzling footage is voiced-over by actual WWI veterans (recorded in the 1960s) describing what occurred in first-person accounts. This monumental masterpiece deserves any and all awards there are and needs to be seen to be believed. Peter Jackson and his extremely talented crew should be congratulated.

    This is a not a movie but 100 year old film that shows WWI in in vivid detail.

    This is a view of what took place in the Great War from those who were there in person in a median that looks like films of this era. Great job of adding sound and color to Peter Jackson and team.

    Vintage film transformed into a documentary that looks like it could have been shot yesterday

    The technology on display in this documentary is cutting edge! It takes old, almost unwatchable footage from WWI, you know the the kind of film I'm talking about, deteriorated and moving at twice the speed, and transforms it into footage that looks like it was filmed yesterday. Absolutely amazing! If you love history, you will love this DVD!

    A Fabulous Film and Commentary by the Producer

    Fabulous documentary! WWI footage restored, colorized, with audio applied to footage so you can hear the people speaking! Early film techniques enhanced to help us better understand. Logical consequence, and the after-movie commentary by the man who produced this fascinating documentary is a genius. Highly recommend to absolutely everyone, historian, film expert, and descendants of The Great War.
