Whether playing a young girl or confused commentator Emily Latella, Gilda Radner is pitch perfect. Jane Curtin, Dan Aykroyd, and Laraine Newman round out this spectacular cast that has never been equaled in more than three decades of the show. This season began the show's tradition of getting top guest hosts including Richard Pryor, Buck Henry, and Candice Bergen. Musical guests include classic artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, ABBA, and Carly Simon. Each episode is in its original 90-minute format.

    A mixed but mostly hilarious kick off to the now classic wacky sketch TV show.

    I remember seeing these shows live, the first time they aired. It was amazing, ground breaking and funny. Today some of the bits are dated, but it's also amazing what they got away with making fun of politics, social conventions, and especially mocking "normal" TV. The commercial spoofs are classic!

    This DVD set is classic humor.

    The beginning of Saturday Night Live, may not have been the slickest production, but it was exceptionally funny and creative. Excellent, memorable skits and artists make this 8 DVD set still a wacky joy to watch, these many years later. Belushi, Curtin, Radner, Aykroyd and more actors on SNL (produced by Lorne Michaels) are hosted by excellent guest artists. The Not Ready for Prime Time players had creative hilarity to spare. SNL continues, but its early years, diamonds in the rough, already had plenty of sparkle. I miss them all.

    Great Stuff! A cast that can't be beat!!

    It's great to be able to watch the old episodes of Saturday Night Live. I believe this is what the show was supposed to be and so much better than what is aired today. Okay I'm old, but I know what's good entertainment. Truly enjoyable and a blast to watch, brings back a lot of good old memories. Simpler times!

    SNL box set complete season 1 Oct 1975

    I've already watched 3 or 4 episodes and it brings me to when as a youngster staying up late and there is nothing like going back in time to relive some very special moments that can actually be re-lived by owning the complete1st season. I'm lovin IT..

    The first year of SNL is awsome!

    The original cast of SNL, who in my opinion were the greatest! Brought back a lot of memories of getting together with friends just to watch SNL and laugh out loud.
