Samsung 870 EVO Drive in a Netbook--YES!!!
I have a Toshiba netbook with a slow Intel Atom CPU that is limited to 2GB RAM. It is maddeningly slow. I even tried a 4GB RAM upgrade, but it won't boot. I had the thought of swapping in a solid state drive to replace the slow 5400 rpm hard drive, assuming it would speed up memory swapping and file processing. I read the reviews and decided the Samsung 870 EVO 250GB drive was the way to go. I purchased a USB-to-SATA cable ($8 on eBay) and downloaded the Samsung migration and disk management software. It took me two attempts to shut off all processes such as anti-virus programs, etc. to ensure that all files were copied over, but on the second attempt, that worked (I tried running the migration program in Safe Mode as an alternative, but it wouldn't move any data). Second system transfer operation was successful--took just over 30 minutes. I then swapped in the SSD to replace the HD. Complete success!!! Process times running the SSD are halved, the netbook now runs much faster, like a real laptop. Boot time is 18 seconds vs. 38 seconds before, etc. I'm going to replace all of our laptop drives (and probably my desktops as well with 870 EVO drives. To me, it seems like a bargain to gain all of the performance for such a reasonable price.

Great inexpensive way to make a backup image of your boot drive
Great inexpensive way to make a backup image of your boot drive just in case something goes wrong with something you try. Samsung provides the backup software for free to copy you existing boot drive to the new SSD. It works best if your existing drive is also an Samsung product, because then you can use it to go back and forth. Samsung image backup only works with Samsung drives. So you may need to pick up a couple of these, but at the price and speed of these drives you have a wonderful improvement to your system in addition to the backup security.

Extremely fast SATA drive and great upgrade for any computer
Extremely fast for any SATA-based computer. Adding a SSD like this essentially gives any machine a whole new life. Especially upgrading from spinning rust and especially for an older office machine. The increased snappiness as a whole greatly adds to productivity over time due to far less frustration and waiting time.

Upgrade
I built a new computer last year. Everything was fine, then started crashing and being really slow. Mb new, processor new, ram new, ps new, only 1t hard drive was from old system. I decided to go with ssd and the Samsung was recommended. Now everything flies. Just love it!

SSD Up grade
Downloaded Samsung 's migration software cloned my hard drive then installed the new hard drive with out any issues.

Fast drive, solid performance.

Need to upgrade.
If you are looking to upgrade computer, try these first, it has improved my computer 300%. Never thought it would make such a difference. Love It!
