Venus in the Blind Spot by Junji Ito exceeds expectations - especially The Enigma of Amigara Fault
Venus in the Blind Spot by Junji Ito is stunning. I was first introduced to Ito by a lifelong friend who found his spin on classic horror to be particularity skillful. Uzumaki by Ito is nothing short of a masterwork, so I was excited to see what else this author had in his oeuvre. The prose are thoughtful, the translation exciting, and the illustrations are spot-on. 5 Stars all the way for any of the English Language translations from Viz Media. I recommend the hardcover books especially, as the work merits multiple readings and the cover artwork is fantastic!
