Product Information

As the first model introduced in the Olympus 35-millimeter single lens reflex (SLR) film cameras, the OM-1 is entirely mechanical, boasting a great compact design and sharp viewfinder. Ideal for serious amateurs or hobby photographers, the OM-1 has a 50-millimeter lens that allows you to capture large panorama views with ease. The viewfinder has interchangeable screens and a fixed prism, giving maximum accuracy when shooting. The shutter speed range of the Olympus OM-1 is 1s to 1/1000s and it features an exposure meter with a visible needle in the viewfinder. A hot shoe attachment is provided in the Olympus OM-1 so users can attach an external flash unit for shooting in darker conditions. The camera also features a self-timer.

    Great Manual SLR camera

    This is a fully manual SLR with all that that implies - full control of aperture, shutter speed and ISO - a unique way to experience photo taking that digital does not provide. The Olympus OM model is also a beautiful object , a small size with metallic weight and controls that are quite unique - a shutter speed behind the lens mount, pronounced shutter speed dial serving a single purpose and what should be a jarring addition but looks just right, the meter on/off switch. Visually even the fine textured grip on the on the original Olympus lens complement the whole design. The camera operates beautifully - not as hefty as other comparable cameras such as the Nikon FM but it has that same quality feeling.

    Great Camera if your starting to get back into film

    It is super simple, very intuitive and has everything you need to take good pictures (if you have a good lens!). You don't actually need batteries to use it. I love the feel of it too. Very sturdy.

    OM-1 the original 1972 Model

    Olympus OM-1 is the best film camera you can buy if you like a great viewfinder and total manual control where your brain makes all the decisions.

    Best camera ever

    Couldn't be happier with it. Not only it's in great cosmetic looks but it also works perfectly! It's one of the most reliable cameras I've ever used.
