Product Information
You can show off a piece of U.S. history by displaying this 1924-S 1C BN Lincoln cent. This regular strike from bronze is a piece of the early run of the Lincoln coinage. The coin’s first mintage began in 1909 to commemorate the centennial of Lincoln’s birth, when the penny replaced the Indian Head first introduced in 1859. Victor David Brenner designed the famous coin, which depicts the bust of Abraham Lincoln on its obverse. The right side of his face is showing, and the word “Liberty” is inscribed at the base of his neck. The motto “In God We Trust” is engraved in uppercase text above his head. Honest Abe is wearing a fine suit, vest, and bow tie, and the penny’s date, 1924, aligns with his breast. Just under the date is the coin’s mint mark “S,” denoting San Francisco. The coin’s reverse features two stalks of durum wheat, which is why it’s affectionately known as “the wheat penny.” The wheat ears would be replaced in 1959 by the Lincoln Memorial. The wheat pennies showed wheat stalks surrounded by the words “One Cent” and “United States of America,” and the motto “E Pluribus Unum” can be seen along the top border of the coin’s reverse face. Designed by Victor D. Brenner, the Lincoln cent is the longest running design listed in the United States Mint history. Brenner’s design was chosen by Theodore Roosevelt in 1909, who had earlier posed for Brenner in New York. Brenner’s association with his Lincoln wheat penny solidified Brenner’s enduring acclaim as a world renowned artist, engraver, and sculptor. The United States government called coins with a value of 0.01 dollars “cents” since the Mint had produced coins using decimals. The penny nickname is a carryover from England, which switched to decimals for coins in 1971. Pennies only grew in demand because of a luxury tax that was introduced in 1917. This need and the President’s image made the Lincoln cent vastly popular, and after its 25 year initial run, there was no interest in changing the design. This 1924-S wheat penny is 19 millimeters in diameter and weighs 3.11 grams and has a plain edge. The cent’s metal is comprised of 95 percent copper and 5 percent tin and zinc. Grade varies depending on how fine the lines and details are. Fine to extra fine, for example, means that the portrait is clear and the wheat’s details are visible and thus the penny has more value and a better grade. The 1924-S wheat penny can be a must have for anyone interested in the art of coin collecting. These pennies can not only be a great gift for new collectors but can also provide value to any already established collection given the variety in grading between pieces. The Lincoln penny sells depending on its grade, value, condition, wear, and die. Given their variety, the Lincoln pennies can be a great way to learn about coin grading. This 1924-S penny can not just add value as a collector’s item but can provide enrichment and learning for anyone interested in U.S. currencies.

- r***j (1362)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufVery happy with coin!!! I bought 3 coins from this seller and they arrived today. eBay let me know the seller was away for a while and it would take a while to receive them...glad I waited and the coins are worth the wait!!! Low cost, great value, very good packaging, coins are as described and in great condition. Would buy from this Seller again!!!
- e***e (95)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThe coin arrived nine days after the seller accepted my reduced offer and was more than suitably packaged so as to protect the coin. A bonus coin was included and even without that bonus, the purchase I made was an exceptional value. The coin was as described in the text and photo in the listing. Thank you. I truly appreciate the coins.
- s***n (811)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufCoin was lost in mail and seller instantly refunded me, that's what I call an honest seller. We need more sellers that stand up and take initiative like this seller. I feel bad because tracking shows delivered but was last seen in a city 50 miles from me so another usps matrix glitch but it's not fair the seller has to lose money, even though it was only a few bucks it adds up. I'm still hoping it shows up do i can refund my refund. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!
