Great figure of a rare subject
American mastodons, despite being the second most well-known Ice Age elephant, are rarely made into figures. Safari Ltd. knocked it out of the park with this version. Sized to match their Carnegie Collection woolly mammoth and smilodon figures (and most regular-sized animal figures from Safari and other companies, about 1:20-something vs. the 1:40 for most dinosaur figures and the Wild Safari woolly mammoth), the detail, accuracy, and expression on this figure are fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone who collects Ice Age animal figures.

Mastodon mania
This mastodon wins every prehistoric battle that takes place in our living room. He is not only the strongest of the dinosaurs, he is also the loudest, especially when he is victorious. (Which is frequently) He has withstood the attacks of numerous velociraptors and t-Rex ambushes. This realistic toy provides hours of fun for our dinosaur loving boys.

Captures it all
Another great model by Safari. The chunky form of this model captures the essence of this magnificent creature & the detail of fur feet & form has rendered this proboscidean perfectly. Eyes, ears & tusks, like other features, are spot on. Well done.

My 6 year old is very impressed!
Great detail. Has nostrils, ear canals, and detailed mouth. Nice texture. Overall very realistic.

It is a Christmas gift that my brother hand picked out. So I am sure he is going to love it. The mammoth is VERY heavy for a toy though.

The best in standard production
The detail and skill in the production of this piece is OUTSTANDING. The physical details are brilliant as is the paint scheme too. This IS the FINEST representation of an American Mastodon available today, outside some sort of incredibly expensive 'custom' version.
