A basic anime book. It will teach a little bit about figure drawing.
It begins by teaching something about figure drawing, which can be used for drawing objects too. As with all manga books, it is suggested to know the basics of drawing first. I recommend ctl + paint. Then learn figure drawing from a book, such as the Michael Hampton.
This book does not teach composition, perspective, or cloth rendering. It does have some things about figure drawing. It explains nothing about line thickness.
In my opinion there are better books that explain the manga. This is a book on anime, and not manga. Not sure what the difference is, but I can say that manga is the one that has all the popularity.
I agree with what artist say, it's good to have more than one how to book on anime and manga.
If you really can only get one, I suggest getting "more how to draw manga". Volume one teaches the basics and goes into great detail on the very important parts of drawing manga. You can learn something from figure drawing not found in figure drawing books.
