  • Great book; chock full of essential information and ideas for beginning weavers and anyone new to Rigiid Heddle weaving.

This is the 2008 edition of this paperback book, but it is no less an excellent informative resource than the later, revised edition of this title. I bought this book as a gift for someone new to weaving, and the recipient was well pleased by the project content, clarity of the step by step instruction, and the over-all "readable" quality of the chapters, introductory information, and the many excellent tips and techniques that support a full understanding of technique and successful completion of each weaving project. Like all Interweave publications, this book is beautifully designed, features attractive illustrations of 17 inspiring projects. and details lots of useful and relevant information on a variety of topics ranging from basic & practical information about weaving, project planning and sources for weaving supplies. Each project/lesson is presented in well-organized and clearly illustrated sequence of instruction. The projects themselves are attractive, practical, and easy to personalize through color choice, texture and materials. I recommend this book to beginning weavers and to weavers who are looking for quick and easy ideas, stash-busting projects, gifts, and simple items to make for the home. In this book, Author, Designer, Teacher Liz Gipson has clearly imparted an achievable standard of craftsmanship and simple design for beginners, as well as to more knowledgable weavers who may be looking for renewed inspiration and fresh ideas for outcomes .
