Lightweight and great features!! I just love my new Wood burner kit!!
Easy to handle, and extremely easy to follow instructions!! Seems I'm all thumbs when it comes to close work, but even I have been careful not to burn myself yet!!

great product, quick to heat, smooth to work with, has temperature dial.
Before this, I bought a made in china burner, which broke down after one day of use! when trying to replace the bit. This product is better by leaps and bounds. it heats quickly, within a minute. when you burn it "paints" smoothly, no repeated strokes for soft woods, it has a temperature control dial, so you can shut it off, or lower the heat. works great. I also used it in conjunction with a dremel-like rotary tool, with wood bits to carve, then with this burner to shade or paint around the carved drawing. I'm still new to this. this product had a good price, and high quality.

Wood Burning Set
This is the 2nd one that I have bought. This brand heats up and is not hot to the touch. Previously, I had a different brand that did not heat up to the temp that is needed for clean workmanship. My 12 year old son loves this set. Definitely a great buy for the price.

Awesome creative designs come to mind when you have one of these. My husband & I make a lot of things with would, so to add a personal touch to each project we use this tool. Amazing what you can do with it. Gotta get a few more for our sons!

It works and that's all I needed it to do.
I went to Harbor Freight and bought a $10 unit to cut plastic bits on 3d prints. I didn't need anything of good quality, just something to cut plastic with. I brought it home and it didn't work at all. I then returned it and the guy says he has had a few of those not work. oh I look online for a unit and I am seeing the same story over and over. It doesn't work at all or it stops working after a few days. I then look up the best units and this one pops up for $20. Done, I bought it, it worked, that's what I needed it to do! In today's world we dont need fancy features we just need things to work and this unit works!

Great tool to make precise cuts in plastic marerials.
Great tool for cutting into plastics neatly, precisely, and with less effort than a dremel or saw. I used the Versa-Tool to transform my 48 quart Coleman Cooler into a sous vide container! I used the Versa-Tool with minimal effort. In fact, it was a breeze. I got the plans for the Coleman Cooler hack on youtube! :D

Problems
While the temp versatility is why I bought this tool, I found this tool to be no better or worse than its fixed temp predecessor. One common problem is the points work themselves loose after a short time. It takes so long for it to cool off to re-tighten that you spend too much time doing just that, waiting.

Wood burner
Here's what's wrong with this unit the heat control is to close to the burning tool you end up dragging it around useing the tool and the gauge gets knocked around and changes the temperture not thought out well , but it works well except for that one issue.

Firearms Frame Work
I use this to stipple the polymer frames of handguns. Much better control than a soldering iron because of the forward grip!

A good start tool
If you are to try wood burning, this tool is a very good one to start with. Comes with all the shading etc tips to do the job. You can control the heat of the tool for different effects etc.
