Very Clever Story
Girls Und Panzer is an extremely entertaining anime dvd. An unusual plot with a clever story. Character development is good, the animation is exceptional and a great music soundtrack really compliments the overall package. Too many characters to detail here, but they all fit perfectly, considering several internationalities personalities and customs are featured. The English dub edition is the best way to go when buying one. Several major (and well known) voice actresses were used in this one There is a follow up OVA movie dvd extending the story (with English subtitles only) available as well and compliments the original story with the same characters. Can't endorse this one enough for pure entertainment. Would rate this one in my Top 20.

Great value. Buy it.
This is the first thing I ever saw in Anime. I'm 65 years old so take it for what it's worth. First off the first 4 episodes have very little to do with tank battles. It's more about plot, friendship building, dominance vs recessive personalities and the setting is on a Japanese air craft carrier which hosts a city. Go figure that one! In any event by chapters 5 and 6 it starts building with battles. The vividness and depth of the colours as well as detail of the tanks is better than outstanding. The background music and sound effects are outstanding. The battles themselves are totally ridiculous but fun for the whole family if you like this kind of entertainment. The tanks move way too fast but that's understandable as this is entertainment, not a documentary. Other is along the lines the 88mm cannon on the StuGIII and TIGER 1 does not knock out tanks with 1 or 2 rounds with far inferior armor. The Tiger 2 same with it's heavyweight hitting gun. In any event it's a fun filled series and I'd recommend it highly for it's entertainment value.

I loved this series. I also bought the movie along with the series which, for this series, I feel is important to watch directly after the last episode. The movie ties the end of series together.

Decent anime movie, not something to write home about.
It is an interesting story line. but the plot conflict was mostly over looked as the story line unfolds. Character development is weak, you never come to understand what drives the characters. The art work is acceptable. The research into the armor was good. The tanks are the main point interest in the movie. It's not one of the top example of anime, but is engaging enough to watch though the series. I really want to give it 3.5 stars.

Cute anime with pretty good story & fun tank action
My college age son was watching this on the internet and got me interested. Nice meld of anime girl school participants using good visual representation of world war 2 armored vehicles in an unlikely setting in an alternate universe. A fun sports-theme movie to watch with your kids.

World of Tanks or BLITZ
Excellent training material for WOT or BLITZ players, since both now have Pz IV Anko SP in their garage. Not to mention watching Girls kill a MAUS! Not hard to follow or enjoy just for the video, great Japanese series!

We touch an alternate reality,
A strange alternative reality, the TV series deserves to watched-- and the promo shirt is a priceless "our world touches that world" item. Yes, it is implausible, but it is entertaining, and is more than just a story, it is a means for us to look at ourselves and decide if we can accept what we are and what we do, or if we need to step up a bit. Reality need not apply to this-- and that is what makes it work.

A story both absorbing and amazing!
Main characters each have their own problems and strengths. Very imaginative setting, but with much history incorporated. I gave away earlier dvd of this but want another copy to watch myself.
