    Great model, worth the time and effort. Easier to light this kit.

    Its a great model, much larger (1:640 scale) than any of the current U.S.S. Defiant models (1:1000 or 1:2500 scale which are terribly small and very hard to light) that are available. Granted it is an older model and you will have do some heavy modifications to it if you want to light this version but the end results will be so worth the time and effort put into it. The base display stand that comes with it is only slightly flimsy but works if you can afford it and find a better display than I would say go for it. Also as others have already said yes the model says snap together but I would recommend using some model cement glue old 90's model snap together kits didn't snap together that well and tended to fall apart unless glued. And for those that think it's too much work well maybe ...

    The D.S. 9 USS Defiant

    The kit is super easy to assemble .The exterior detail is excellent, just take your time with it and enjoy it.Put a nice paint job on it. It comes with a very nice display stand accent the model . If you like Star Trek you'll find this just as enjoyable. Enjoy.

    largley Defiant

    this is a 1/420 scale. It is large. It does snap together but gluing is recommended. There is a lot of body surface painting if you do the instruction suggestions. Taping and air brushing is complicated. The stand is flimsy. I purchased the AMT replacement large dome stand. It fits as a perfect replacement. typical AMT detail. I still prefer Revell's quality and detail. Don't pay more than $45.00 for this. That is pushing the top end price.
