    This is not a book for the faint of heart. Though it does not revel in gruesome details, the sheer Not for the faint of heart!

    Though the authors don’t revel in the gruesome details of the inhuman actions perpetuated by by the serial killers discussed, even the simple descriptions are hideous: “...using his thumbs he gouged out the eyes of his living victims and ate them.” The authors do largely abstain from editorializing comments about the killers; in fact, many appear to be normal members of the community. Even with the dispassionate approach of the authors, I could could only manage reading 4 of the 150 killers described. That was enough to seriously challenge my opposition to the death penalty. One lesson l noted; many of these monsters left clues that if processed, might have stopped them sooner.

    There is more thorough material on Wikipedia for most of these listings. The whole thing seems weirdly sanitized & redacted. Right? Right.
