    This item arrived as described and on time. I gave the four star rating because I think it was banged up a bit in shipping (envelope type package with bubble wrap) and maybe should have been put in a box with bubble wrap. My son is giving this to his new wife on their wedding day so I didn't want to chance sending it back since it was the only new version I could find online for him. I think she'll love it anyway. Overall, I'd say I'm really pleased though and would recommend this seller.

    The book arrived today in excellent condition; wrapped in protective bubble wrap, and protected in a study cardboard box that was perfect for the book size. The book has sentimental value and I asked Brenham Book Company for extra care to send the book and I was trully impressed by their reply and actions took. Truly a top shelf company that I will use again!!

    One Voice, A Massive Cast Of Characters

    What isn't to like about The Lord Of The Rings? The story is excellent, with wonderful characters and settings, and plenty of increasing drama as you proceed through the story. Having it on audiobook makes it even better for me, as I can listen to it at work or while traveling. This set is well recorded and narrated, with numerous poems related, songs sung, fantasy languages translated, and characters brought to life purely by the power of a human voice. Even with one narrator on the job, you can hear the differences between characters of different origins and backgrounds with a single sentence. If you haven't read the books, or if you have, but need to again, I recommend this audio book to carry you away to Middle Earth.

    The only, and therefore best, unabridged LotR!

    Rob Ingles brings great life to Tolkien's masterpiece. His character voices are compelling, and make a story that can be hard to trudge through for some readers very easy to listen to in the car or doing chores at home. I recommend The Hobbit, also read by Rob Ingles, and The Silmarillion if you like The Lord of the Rings.

    When you're a fan!!

    This is the BEST recording ever of Lord of the Rings!! I probably listen to it at least once a year!! You will love the narrator. He even sings the songs and has a very nice voice!! Super recording. I highly recommend it!!

    Tolkien: The Modern Day Shakespeare whose story assures that good overcomes evil.

    Tolkien, in my mind, is the modern-day Shakespeare. Good versus evil, the corruption of power, destruction of ecology... The Lord of the Rings includes themes to keep us pondering our priorities. Word play, imagination, humor... Tolkien's use of language and boundless thought make this a tale you will believe and you will cheer the good main characters on their incredible journey. I have listened to this tale over and over, and am glad to have this series of cds. They came very carefully boxed and in perfect shape. My man and I put these disks in the car on long trips; I listen while polishing silver. The Lord of the Rings is a story for your entire family. To read and to read again.
