Changed my expectations of the story
I had delayed ordering this movie because first, I thought it was mainly a comedy, which is not my usual genre choice, but a good friend recommended it to me. My subsequent viewing of it revealed its serious side and left me a very satisfied viewer.

Watch this one!!!
This underrated movie is really a must-see. Lots of people scoffed at it and didn't want to watch it because they didn't think that comedy and nazis were an appropriate mix, but they were wrong. This movie is hilarious! It's also poignant and dramatic. Seriously, it's great.

A Real Surprise
I had some mixed feelings about purchasing the movie, but in the end I was glad I'd seen it. A comedy about Nazis is a touchy subject for most people, but this one proved to be an exception to the rule, and my misgivings gave way to a degree of admiration for the writers, production staff, and performers. I know this is not a film that cannot be offensive to everyone, but I felt it did it adequately make some points about growing up and getting over fantasies that can get out of hand. Jojo definitely got over Herr Hitler, but I was getting worried. He paid a price for his obsessions, but the moral lessons were learned. I can't recommend this for everyone: neither my parents generation or many of my own, but the next generation could benefit, especially if they'd take it a step further and actually read some history.

Arrived quickly and the price was very reasonable. I love the various portrayed characters, the sacrificial heroism of the mother and the training commandant, and the messages against antisemitism and homophobia. A very good story with a historical background setting.

Jojo Rabbit tells a story we should all see.
Amazing look at the effect Hitler had on the population and the response of some. Artistically compelling, sweet sad story.
