Leverage is a drama series that often veers into comedy as it tells the story of a group of thieves and con artists, who use their skills to win victories for the little guy. Leverage: the 1st Season tells the story of how these unlikely casts of characters, led by Timothy Hutton as Nathan Ford, go about overcoming obstacles and accomplishing missions. This four-disc set contains each episode of the first season of this show, along with some special features like audio commentaries and deleted scenes. Fans of action with their drama might enjoy the "Anatomy of a Stunt Fight" feature found on Leverage: The 1st Season four-disc set. There is more to Leverage: The 1st Season, however, as other features look at the camera work that goes into making an episode of Leverage, which will please fans of film and television production. The humorous side of the cast and crew is featured in a final treat, a spoof video featuring Beth Riesgraf, who plays Parker.

One Of The Very Few Recent Television Shows That Is Worth Watching
The premise of this show is a David & Goliath battle and if you liked "The Equalizer" or "The A Team" you will probably like this show. There is a certain amount of subtle humor which draws you to the characters and human frailty that I don't always care for but is part of the make up of the characters. Some of what they do to accomplish their goal seems far fetched but then again, these days a lot of things happen that a few years ago would seem far fetched. The team is led by a former insurance investigator who whose employer's greed caused his son to die from a treatable illness and as the series progresses his goal in life is to give the little guy, "Leverage" against the big guy. The first episode shows him thrown in with criminals whom he dealt with during his career as an investigator. This team gelled and all decided to work with him to recover losses by victims of greedy politicians, corporations, criminals and others whom you love to hate. It is more than the good guys vs the bad guys. Watch reruns of this show on cable and you'll want to buy all the CDs so you can watch at will and without commercial interruptions.

Revenge is sweet-----and funny.
Everyone has feelings of getting revenge for an injustice done to them by a person or company etc. This group of 5 people do a different "con" every episode to help someone get "justice". Each person on the team has their own specialties and I really like it because it's not "heavy" or violent. Actually lighthearted and often FUNNY. They don't kill or use guns.

Decent, could have been great
Entertaining concept but silly, inconsistent writing. In the pilot Eliot takes out four armed opponents in less than a second more than once, in other episodes he struggles with one person in poorly choreographed scenes. Some of the cons are brilliant, others are obvious. I won't buy following seasons.

In life there are times we can all use some leverage
love how each individual character interacts with one another. Perfect match up of five characters and their skills needed to pull off action packed "jobs", which have a touch of realism. Fun to watch. Always liked Timothy Hutton

Everything you liked about the TV series is here. No Commercials. Dolby Digital 5.1, and perfect for 16:9 widescreen! Just make sure if you are in US that the DVD you buy is region 1.

Leverage is awesome!
I have really enjoyed Leverage seasons 1-5 ever since it was on Netflix then on the ION channel. I had to get it once ION stopped airing it. I just wish I could get it on a digital format!

Best Show Ever!
This is one of the best shows I've ever seen! The actors are awesome, especially Christian Kane, who's not only a great actor, but he's hot too, lol!

Great purchase
I have enjoyed this first season of Leverage. It has engaging characters, and well plot stories. The season consists of thirteen episodes, with auto-commentary.

Great promise - but predictable and contrived
After watching a few episodes, one can predict what is going to happen in each 'new' situation. The characters are interesting and the premise works, but the more one watches, the more things feel contrived. I read a review before purchasing that compared Leverage to Burn Notice - it's not even close.

Good so far I'm almost done with season 1 cannot put anything about season 4 3 or 2 because I haven't watched it yet
