    "The Invaders" Remains A Unique Contribution To TV Entertainment

    An often overlooked cousin to such TV classics as "The Twilight Zone," "The Outer Limits" and, in another era, "The X Files," is "The Invaders," a saga about hostile extraterrestrials secretly attempting to take over the earth and the fight put up to stop them by one man, David Vincent, played superbly by Roy Thinnes. Each episode mixes adventure, paranoia, conspiracy and special effects to create two seasons of what remains a unique, dark and very engaging television program. All 43 uncut episodes are available in this 12 disc collection--with nominal extras--which looks and sounds quite good and the show retains its ability to entertain in a wonderfully unnerving way.

    Nice box set!

    Nice box set of the complete series of the Invaders! I always liked this series, it was one that didn't have a comedy relief caracter but was more dramatic. The special effects were great for the time. The picture quality is good on these DVD's ,looks great on my flat screen tv! Contains several Special Features too! Another old cult classic brought back to be enjoyed again!

    Nice price for an entire series on DVD.

    This show is pretty neat. I don't remember watching it when I was young but started watching it on digital channels. Now it isn't available or on too late to watch. So, I was happy to find the entire season on Ebay. Great 1960s TV show.

    Old show timeless

    I watched this series back when it first aired, still enjoy it all these years later. Certain actors are perfect for certain roles and that goes for Roy Thinnes as David Vincent. Excellent!!!!!!

    A Lost TV gem

    Only on for one and a half seasons (cancelled allegedly under pressure from the Johnson Administration who cited the show for fostering anti-authoritarian sentiment), The Invaders is the Twilight Zone offshoot that is the clear ancestor of The X-Files. Relying on skillfully written, tension filled plots, fantastic guest stars (Hey - there’s Suzanne Pleschette! There’s Dabney Coleman!) and character development rather than special effects, the show finds it’s groove after establishing the story arc in the first few episodes. Although the Hitchcock plot device of “the man no one believes” is often used, the show’s anchor, the outstanding Roy Thinnes, delivers a performance that generates agonizing empathy for architect David Vincent each episode.
