BETTER THAN NEW!
This transformer has been refurbished and updated to better than when it was new in 1947! It looks brand new, controls the speed of my Lionel steam engine much better now and the coal tender whistle is now much louder with the new diode control installed. I am very happy that I paid just little bit more for this "better than new" transformer than a used one which may be well worn out like my old one. Great all around transformer, 90watt

Several smaller transformers over one large one.
I'm a starter on model trains. Rather than one large four train transformer I wanted four smaller ones. This allows visitors and my wife to take part in controlling a train. When I was a child my neighbor had several trains on a platform. He had the big four train transformer. All I ever did was watch. It would have been more fun for me to have control of one of them with a smaller transformer. The one I'm doing the review on has a whistle control also.
