If you have ever wondered what it would have been like to see an up close personal look at our founding fathers, warts and all, real life human beings with real flaws, but at the same time, the political geniuses they were, watch John Adams. John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Samuel Adams, and John Quincy Adams all come alive as real flesh and blood people with flaws, personalities, and at the same time, greatness! Jefferson and Washington fascinated me; the genius of both those men yet slaveholders made both men endlessly interesting to me. John Adams was from New England and not a slave owner, but arrogant and full of ego, he is only barely kept in check by his brilliant wife, Abigail Adams. What a way to recreate and see history come alive! Required ... Takes you back in time
This movie takes you back to the time of the Continental Congress, John Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. It goes into detail many parts of his life, even pinpointing several of his written down quotes and memoirs in history. It is well worth watching!

Great story. I cannot testify to the veracity of the events as they unfold in the series. However, the story of struggle towards national independence while seeking a middle way seem equally as credible as hypocritical, depending on ones politics and world view. Jefferson is portrayed well. David Morse does the Washington portrayal in that hilarious high ethics style that he carried throughout his 2002-2004 television series, ‘Hack’. The series attempts to cast light on the fledgling nation’s attempts to not be a simple philosophical continuance of the nation it was attempting unyoke from. The cinematography gorgeous and costuming is well ‘on point’. From frying pans to shoes, there are no jarringly anachronisms that jump out. The extras in the dvd DVD collection are super and liable to ... Great story. I cannot testify to the veracity of the events as they unfold in the series. Some of the features are interactive ‘Easter eggs’ that contain more in-depth historical views of particular moments along the series. One extra feature explains how attention was paid to the authenticity of late 18th English language. I’ve not ever written a movie review before - so read this for what it is worth. Great historical series. Usually going for cheap in the marketplace. I would pick this up. Your pals will want to borrow it, mine have. I rate this series 5 out of 5 possible 🌽’s Thanks for reading

Absorbing, very personal history.
Really excellent work, very true to the history, from the remarkable Pulitzer Prize winning work of David McCullough. Loved the "Abby Adams" piece. Great Job!

Historical Gem!
The "John Adams" mini-series is one of the most engaging historical dramas that has ever been produced and follows the book, "John Adams" by David McCullough, very well. The acting is brilliant, the sets are remarkable in historical accuracy, and I really enjoyed the music. The story of John and Abigail deserved to be told in such a wonderful production!
