Product Information

Despite a historically and morally questionable premise, the 1960s sitcom HOGAN'S HEROES was wildly popular during its premiere run and continues to remain one of the most classic (not to mention utterly unique) comedy series in television history. Set in a Nazi prison camp during World War II, the series follows a group of Allied POWs--Englishman Peter Newkirk (a pre-FAMILY FEUD Richard Dawson), Frenchman Louis LeBeau (Robert Clary), and Americans Andrew Carter (Larry Hovis) and James Kinchloe (Ivan Dixon, one of the first African-American actors to get equal billing)--led by the irrepressible Colonel Robert Hogan (Bob Crane) in their hilarious attempts to sabotage the Nazi war effort. Though often mischaracterized as a tasteless gloss on the real-life horrors of Nazi Germany (the series was set in a prisoner-of-war camp, rather than concentration camp), HOGAN'S HEROES was intended as parody and certainly pulled no punches in its unflattering depiction of idiotic Nazi officers such as the pompous Colonel Klink (Werner Klemperer), bumbling Sergeant Schultz (John Banner), and irascible General Burkhalter (Leon Askin)--in fact, Klemperer, Banner, and Askin were all Jewish, and Clary was a Holocaust survivor. This collection includes all 32 episodes of the controversial series' debut season, which was nominated for two Emmy Awards.

    Arrived on final day of delivery window. Was slow getting through customs and that appears to be happening a lot more often. This is not the fault of the seller! Tracking was available for me to follow. When the item arrived, it was safely packaged and in great condition. As described. I contacted seller and got a quick response. Overall it was a very good buying experience! Just be patient with the delay at customs and remember that the seller can not do anything to fix that delay. A+

    Received the item and I noticed a scratch i didnt see in the photo. Vendor was very helpful and willing to accept a return. Packaging was okay but the card needed a toploader or card saver instead of just two pieces of random cardboard but at least it was in a bubble mailer to make up for that. Overall the shipping time was good and the vendors customer service is what made this transaction so memorable for me. Thank you

    Creative 60's comedy at it's best!

    This set is a very entertaining collection of vintage 60's comedy! The pilot is in black and white, the rest are color. It's really neat to see how this show began. I liked how they used their actors to maximize the shows effectiveness. The stories are well constructed and thought out. There is plenty of physical slapstick type humor to keep you laughing. A must see for vintage comedy fans!

    Just too Funny!

    It's a shame these men are dead, they made this show very funny, It will help relieve stress and jump up your good endorphin levels. You don't need to know much about World War II to enjoy this TV show from the late 60,s to early 70's. You Will enjoy it. THAT'S AN ORDER!!!!

    Hogan's Heroes Season One

    We have really enjoyed the series and have been sharing this video with our grand children who want to see more of the same. Clean fun and in good taste; we highly recommend it for family viewing.
