Reviews
"Ever looked at an old tree and wondered what it would say if it could talk? Just us? This fascinating photography book tells the story of 57 ancient and culturally significant trees from around the world." --Marie Claire "a stunning book called Wise Trees, which charts historically and culturally significant trees, from California to India. It features images taken by photographers Diane Cook and Len Jenshel, who spent two years travelling the globe to snap pictures of 59 extraordinary trees." Daily Mail"Landscape photographers Diane Cook and Len Jenshel spent two years travelling to 59 locations across five continents to photograph some of the world's most historic trees. Their work is documented in the book, Wise Trees. While we pass many trees every day, we rarely stop to appreciate their beauty and significance. The book is an ode to trees - they can live without us, but we cannot live without them. Not only do they provide us with the oxygen we breathe, food gathered from their branches, and wood for both fuel and shelter, but they have been essential to the spiritual and cultural life of civilisations around the world. The book is thought-provoking and beautiful." Psychologies magazine

Synopsis
Leading landscape photographers Diane Cook and Len Jenshel present Wise Trees - a stunning photography book containing more than 50 historical trees with remarkable stories from around the world. Supported by grants from the Expedition Council of the National Geographic Society, Cook and Jenshel spent two years traveling to fifty-nine sites across five continents to photograph some of the world's most historic and inspirational trees. Trees, they tell us, can live without us, but we cannot live without them. Not only do trees provide us with the oxygen we breathe, food gathered from their branches, and wood for both fuel and shelter, but they have been essential to the spiritual and cultural life of civilizations around the world. From Luna, the Coastal Redwood in California that became an international symbol when activist Julia Butterfly Hill sat for 738 days on a platform nestled in its branches to save it from logging, to the Bodhi Tree, the sacred fig in India that is a direct descendent of the tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment, Cook and Jenshel reveal trees that have impacted and shaped our lives, our traditions, and our feelings about nature. There are also survivor trees, including a camphor tree in Nagasaki that endured the atomic bomb, an American elm in Oklahoma City, and the 9/11 Survivor Tree, a Callery pear at the 9/11 Memorial. All of the trees were carefully selected for their role in human dramas. This project both reflects and inspires awareness of the enduring role of trees in nurturing and sheltering humanity. - o***t (3456)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufI certainly assume that the seller is fully aware of the situation they created and did nothing about it. The listing was for "pack of 6" 10 oz bottles. I received 2 bottles. I messaged seller several times regarding this shortage but GOT NO RESPONSE. I finally requested a return. I returned in same packaging plus extra padding. It needed it. I was fully refunded but seller left a comment that I only returned 2 of 6 items. Watch out for this seller.Antwort von nelagarments- Verkäufer nelagarments hat auf Bewertung reagiert.- Verkäufer nelagarments hat auf Bewertung reagiert. One of the worst buyers I have had, I am glad to not do business with them anymore. Have blocked them from purchasing anymore units. Placed two separate orders and had "issues" with both orders in order to get a few free jars of cherries. Terrible experience.Sable & Rosenfeld Whiskey Tipsy Cherries 10-Ounce Glass Jars Pack of 6 (Nr. 285435288963)
- 9***8 (1)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufThe boots were exactly as described, new and in the original packaging. Great value and they shipped and arrived quickly. Great experience overall.
- c***m (35)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufHello There, I wouldn't buy from this seller. 1. They accept offers - they don't respond- they let time run out- I did this 3 times before they accepted a bid that was the actual cost of the product. 2. They offer free shipping- to them it is when they get to it. After 2 days to see movement or shipping info, I contacted them- they were rude, called me "entitled person" Then they automatically canceled the order when I was tryin to get ETA of when to expect it I would never deal with this vendorAntwort von nelagarments- Verkäufer nelagarments hat auf Bewertung reagiert.- Verkäufer nelagarments hat auf Bewertung reagiert.Yes, an entitled person that says they will ask ebay to step in and demand a refund if the item does not ship for you within 48 hours. You do not get to threaten eBay sellers after getting a deal and free shipping (which costs on average $14 now). You were added to the blocked buyer list for a reason.
