Now you can experience one of the greatest classic dragon games for the PS1."The Legend of Dragoon" was released in 2000 for the original PlayStation. This epic RPG includes four discs and lets you take on the role of Dart, a warrior returning to his home village. The village was sacked, and his dear friend Shana was kidnapped. However, these horrific events are only the tip of the game's intricately layered plot. You control Dart on his journey through Endiness, where he meets with Rose, a taciturn, battle-hardened woman with a mysterious past. Along the way they recover Shana, meet with the war hero Lavitz, and encounter Kongol, a silent, strong warrior of few words. Up to eight heroes can join Dart on his adventures across Endiness, all of whom are able to become Dragoons.The game adds a new twist on turn-based combat for role-playing games and boss battles. When you choose to attack, you can chain combos together by hitting "X" at the right moment. Each team member has different attack abilities and will call out the name of the attack if the player successfully completes the chain. This attack mechanic is designed for intense play and quicktime events, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat in each battle.Battles against bosses and normal enemies are won with weapons or magic. These are available only to a character who has transformed into a Dragoon. Your dragon weapons increase in strength and attack power as you purchase new swords, axes, and bows/arrows from merchants to take on a boss or cut through weaker enemies. Your magical skills increase with experience and are drawn from the four elements of wind, water, fire, and earth. Each character has their own different style of magic. For example, Rose uses dark black magic, and Dart has fire skills. Each disc offers a new section of the world to explore and more lives to save on your quest for personal vengeance.Each boss you encounter has their own dark ambitions for Endiness, and some are even gifted with the powers of a Dragoon themselves. The intricately rendered, full-motion video cutscenes make "The Legend of Dragoon" a game that is a true jewel of the classic PSX days. You are rewarded for your hard work in each section of the game by these gorgeous, richly colored scenes available throughout each disc."The Legend of Dragoon" for the Sony PlayStation is a game truly ahead of its time.     Fantastic Throwback of a game! Could have been a Final Fantasy contender if they kept on it!

    What an amazing game. I adore this game so much. It brings back the simpler days when things were easy. The story of Dart and his journey throughout 4 discs is amazing. And we're talking 4 full discs, this isn't Final Fantasy where the last disc was the final dungeon. You still got plenty of game left once you hit that 4th disc. The cutscenes and graphics were ahead of the time when it came out.

    A Hidden Gem

    Unfortunately the PlayStation was at the end of its lifespan when they decided to release Legend of Dragoon. However, the game pushes everything to the limit. The story, gameplay, graphics, all of it compound into an excellent RPG that could have been a good contender against the Final Fantasy series. The battle system switches it up in a good way so that you have to stay focused on the task at hand with the powerful Additions. Using Dragoon Magic? Even better. Highly recommended game for anyone who enjoys RPGs.

    Excellent, as always.

    My experience purchasing the game was very good. Product was as advertized, better even, as the disks were in pretty much perfect condition. The price was a steal compared to local shops selling the same game. The game itself is still the jewel it was in early 2000. I look forward to playing it through to the end, and reliving the noatalgia.

    Compelling

    The games PS1 graphics are offputting at first, even when PS1 was my primary system I was hesitant on my first attempt to play this game. Once the story unfolds, companions start being added to your team and the world opens wide in an array of hand drawn backgrounds, in depth cut-screen footages, the game takes a whole new shape. This was around the age of 10 or 12 , now I'm 28 and the game sticks in my memory, playing it again on emulation provoked me to own a physical copy of this nostalgic Legend.

    In love!!

    My mothers Christmas present this year. It’s one of her favorite games. It showed up early, just in time for Christmas and in perfect condition! The only sign it’s been used is that it’s without the plastic wrapping. It’s wonderful, and I would definitely recommend it.
