It's a fast 50mm and is both compact and light weight (8 oz. versus the DFA*50 at 33 oz.). While the body design is old hailing back to the 1990's it has been updated a bit and that's a plus. While it has not been weatherized like so many newer Pentax lenses, the real point of this version are the HD lens coatings. Pentaxforums.com has a recent review of this lens.

Been burned before online so I always check one star reviews, almost didn't order from Focus Camera. A lot of negative reviews are a decade old. I had great communication, great customer service (offered on one and bought another from them over Labor day so I ended up with 2, they cancelled and refunded one for me). As described, quick shipping, fair price. 5 stars for seller. Would buy again!
