Before surfacing near the west coast of Africa, the vessel had spent a remarkable sixty-six days submerged. The author depicts the grueling aspects of a submariner's life.     Picks up the immediate post war thinking or want to forget about the 2nd WW.

    A bit of history unknown to most and written by a regular German guy who happened to become a skipper, at a very young age.
