    Great transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe

    One of the best books re. WW 1

    This is one of the great books about World War 1. It is beautifully and compellingly written. It's long too, but well worth it, Clark does the best explication of complex Balkan politics leading up to the war that i have read anywhere. Also, hardcover copies listed on Amazon were prohibitively expensive, so i was very glad to find a copy here on e-bay at a reasonable--very reasonable--price.

    World War I as accident.

    A super-detailed review of events and personalities that led to World War I, arguing in effect that it didn't have to happen. Spreads blame around rather fairly but minimizes the massive geopolitical shift that German unification had brought about in the 19th century. Clark's thesis is too "accidental" for my taste and would have benefited from application of Occam's Razor.

    Learning history

    It is important to understand history and The Sleepwalkers is telling the history of what led the world into World War 1 and it is following the same pattern in this conflict in Ukraine as it is leading countries into a conflict that most have no National interest in show history is it important to learn so that we don't repeat it thank you
