Though it only aired for one season, the 1979 cartoon series THE NEW ADVENTURES OF FLASH GORDON is fondly remembered for its innovative use of rotoscoping (a form of animation that involves tracing over live-action footage for a remarkably kinetic effect). Closely adhering to the style and storyline of Alex Raymond's classic 1930s comic strip, the series followed the intergalactic adventures of Flash Gordon as he, his girlfriend, Dale Arden, and their scientific companion, Dr. Han Zarkov, fought to save the universe from the evil plotting of tyrannical space lord Ming the Merciless. This collection presents the beloved series in its entirety for a total of 24 episodes.

DVD would have been great if you bought it when it first came out, too expensive to just see episode 15 and 16.
First season is the best, ends around episode 16. Episodes 17 - 24 are each about 12 minutes long and are plagued by a new character; a pink dragon. Small children may like the dragon character but true fans of Flash Gordon not so much. You can buy the first season cheaper but the problem is that it only has episodes 1-14, episode 15 and 16 continue the story and are not included in the cheaper set.

This takes me back to my childhood days. I love every single episode!! I remember watching flash while eating a bowl of boo berry cereal!! Anybody else? Those were the days

One of Filmations greatest cartoon shows! The animation is some of the best you will ever see! Great and fun stories!
