    Foundational Math arranged in very good fashion

    This book is made up of roughly 140 chapters, each with a lesson and then practice problems of what you just learned, and then 25ish review problems. It's the only way that really works. I've tried tutoring kids with other programs, that don't have the built in review, and it just doesn't stick, no matter how intuitively they got it the first time. With this book (for 4th or 5th graders) you lay the foundation of basic arithmetic on which everything else is built. It also saves tutors tons of lesson prep time, because you can simply do a lesson, knowing that the review problems are carefully selected to make it stick, instead of hunting around old chapters to try to select review problems for your student

    Saxon Math 54

    I love this textbook. I used the Saxon system when I homeschooled my daughter. I still have the textbooks for older students. I am now tutoring reading and math and giving support to homeschool families. I am slowly building up my collection of lower-grade Saxon books. This is the best math system ever, and this 5/4 textbook does not disappoint. Its best features are the way concepts are broken down into smaller sub-concepts to facilitate learning, the incremental learning approach, and the review and repetition so that the student can get a lot of practice on what was learned. I don't know of any downside to this textbook.

    Sexton 54 teaches students to do mental math, great feature

    I actually used this book in class and the format causes students to see success right away.

    2nd edition still very popular

    This 2nd edition of Saxon Math 54 is still a very popular product. I purchased this for my daughter who homeschools her children. She herself learned math using this series, so our entire family is familiar with the product.

    Moldy Book

    This book has mold spots throughout the book from water damage. I feel like the book should not be sold in this condition. Very disappointing!
