Filmmaker Gast--who went on to lens the acclaimed HELL'S ANGELS FOREVER (1983) and the Oscar-winning WHEN WE WERE KINGS (1996)--also goes behind the scenes with the band and interviews many fans in an ambitious effort to capture the complete Dead experience.

Great-ful Dead!
The Grateful Dead Movie is great. The bonus DVD is almost even better- unbelievably beautiful music. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who likes the Dead, or is even just interested in what they're about. It's filled with Rock n' Roll, interesting people, and drug use. Perfect for those early wake-n-bake-n-coffee mornings. And those late nights waiting for the mushrooms to wear off.

There is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert - even if it is on DVD!
The description was accurate, the quality was perfect, the price was more than reasonable, and the delivery time was excellent! What more can I ask for?

A fun and engaging movie!
This is a great film for any Deadhead, with lots of performance footage as well as quirky animated sequences and interviews. Recommended.

Definitive edition
Absolutely the definitive presentation of the Grateful Dead movie. Easily surpasses any previous edition of this title - pretty hard to find a reasonably priced copy now, though.
