Danes vs. Anglos, Christians vs. Norse Gods, as Alfred the Great begins to unify England.
TV movie version of the classic Bernard Cornwall novel series. Deviated from the book as is necessary for the movie's constraints, but true to the overall concept. English actors are phenomenal. Two Thumbs Up!
Watching The Last Kingdom was captivating. I could hardly wait to see what Uhtred would do next; so I binge-watched much of the five season series. Now I can hardly wait to watch the movie! This is my second purchase of the DVD set, because the first set's film quality deteriorated, especially Season 5, which is important for the film's continuity. It was disappointing to watch 4 2/3 of the movie, then not be able to successfully view the last two episodes. I decided to rebuy the entire series, than just the last 5th season. Great series in compact DVD case.

Top Five Adventure Series
I love The Last Kingdom series as my Top Five Adventure Series. Cannot wait to see the next episode after seeing two episodes each evening. This is the second time I am seeing the entire series. Will see the entire five seasons again after a year, never failing to enjoy again. History Comes Alive
