A young boy going through the pains of puberty interats with a young woman wracked with sorrow.
Am confused...this is a dvd, not a sauce. Other than that enigma, this film is just as engaging and poignant as it was many years ago when it was first released, And yes, it reminds us of youth, the youth we perhaps did not use all that effectively, nor to it fullest. Oscar Wilde stated it most eloquently when he said, "It is a pity that Youth is wasted on the young." This is a piece of art which presents with great force the sorrow and tragedy that endless wars visit upon the innocent. It leaves the mourners desperately seeking an answer, seeking solace, warmth, surgery for a badly damaged heart and soul. So it is that a confused young man and a distraught and grieving widow seek mutual comfort in their unorthodox relationship, to the healing and maturing benefit of both of them. If anyone viewing this film from start to finish without shedding a tear, then he/she is made of much sturdier stuff than what I am made of..
