Not sure what it means, but the name reflects something European and classy in my mind, and suits the fragrance perfectly.
I love it. It has been my favorite for 20+ years. It's such a beautiful fragrance, and even if I use a little too much it's not overpowering. I do not care for the newer version of Imari that Avon has produced. I only like the original.

Avon came out with a new bottle for their IMARI, claiming the scent was exactly the same. It's very weak in scent, i will not purchase the new bottle.
THE NEW BOTTLE IS WEAK IN IT'S SCENT, IT IS NOT THE SAME IMARI I HAVE WORN FOR OVER 10 YEARS. I WILL NOT PURCHASE THIS NEW BOTTLE AGAIN. THEY ARE MISREPRESENTING THIS NEW BOTTLE. IT'S SCENT IS VERY WEAK AND YOU CANNOT SMELL IT ON YOUR CLOTHES. I USE TO GET LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS BUT NOT WITH THIS NEW BOTTLE. I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE THIS WATERED DOWN IMARI.

To strong fo me
I always liked Imari from Avon but I think there is something different about this one. It's very strong..my family says it smells like perfume for an older woman. None the less the price was nice and I will use less of it. It smells better after it has been on for a little while.

Great Fragrance
I Love this cologne. It is one of the few colognes that I am NOT allergic to. I always get compliments when I wear Imari. Great fragrance.

Very Happy Customer!
I loved Imari 'back in the day' and had finally used up the last of my precious stash a few weeks back. I was delighted to find it here, new and unopened, at a very reasonable price. It's lovely and kind of takes me back when I use it. My spouse loves it on me, too, so extra bonus, there. Very happy with my purchase. :D

My favorite and everyone else's when I walk in the room. I have used the whole line since it was introduced. Everyone from family to strangers say, "You smell sooo good!!" Its a beautiful, sexy, warm scent, which is not overpowering. I would describe it's appeal as hypnotic.

Not what expected
My sister loves the original Imari in the all burgundy bottle. I was misled by the picture. She kept it but really doesn't like it due to it doesn't smell like the original and doesn't last as long.

Must use a lot of the Imari to hold the scent. It seems as though the perfume is made weaker.
