NotesDaryle Singletary's 1995 debut album showcases Singletary's love for the honky-tonk subgenre of country, and his performances here-recorded at Sound Stage Studio in Nashville-have all the clarity and charisma that would come to define his career and space in the genre.
Traditional country music by a great singer - can't beat it.
Very good first album by a great singer who wants to keep it a traditional/classic country sound. This is not country rock that you hear on "new country" radio stations. You can't beat the sound created by a steel guitar and fiddle. Daryle was discovered and influenced by Randy Travis, and it shows. All 10 songs are delivered with emotion. "There's A Cold Spell Movin' In", "I Let Her Lie", and "Would These Arms Be In Your Way" are my favorites.
