    I can talk about the fast shipping or how it was exactly as described, heck i can even talk about the great value, but most of all i want to talk about the packaging. I've bought quite a bit of game consoles and this was above all amazingly packaged. I cannot stress how impressed and happy to see this console sold as parts being packaged as well as this was. If their shipping something labeled as parts this magnificently, thats the signs of a great seller 100% couldnt recommend more!

    A fine and entertaining version of the Tolkien fantasy epic!

    The Ralph Bakshi version, the version of The Lord of the Rings I grew up watching. It is always good to see a fantasy epic from different perspectives, and, in some cases, this version follows the original Tolkien book better than the Jackson version. The rotoscope animation is fascinating in the visuals, which at the time of pre-CGI (1978) was probably the best method of making the Tolkien fantasy into a practical movie. An excellent score by Leonard Rosenman. It is a fine and entertaining rendering of Tolkien's masterpiece!

    Watch it, then never watch it again.

    Hands down, the most painful rendition of any Tolkien tale. The animated version of The Hobbit and Return of the King stand leagues above this utmost disastrous of interpretations. The lore is acceptably straight forward and simple enough for a child to follow, however I'd compare the animation quality to spoiled leftovers half cooked in a microwave, far below the standards of the time, 1978 mind you.. The voice acting is a wildly mixed bag, while some characters feel true to their visual interpretations (Aragorn, Gandolf, The Hobbits), others lacked considerably (Gollum). I am thoroughly glad I finally took the time to watch it, if for no other reason then to build further immunity to inevitable future perils.

    This is the LOTR to show kids that are 13 or so before they're old enough for the new movies.

    If you are LOTR fan or just like impressive animation this is a good choice. It follows the books pretty well and is a great addition to any collection. Very glad to finally get a copy for the right price.

    A Classic Animation Masterpiece

    With vivid illustrations right out of a storybook, Lord Of The Rings is a gem of 1970s animation. This, along with The Hobbit and Return Of The King are bonafide classics in their own right. An excellent movie for the whole family.

    Good version for kids

    still entertaining, weird animation, great story and not scary for kids, 5 and up is ok maybe. the dvd version is remastered, looks great.
