The D-Link DGS-2205 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit switch features a non-blocking switching architecture that filters and forwards packets at full wire-speed for maximum throughput. An 8,000 MAC address table provides scalability for even the largest networks.The auto features of this gigabit switch make installation plug and play and hassle-free. No configuring is required. Auto MDI/MDI-X crossover on all ports eliminate the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Auto-negotiation on each port senses the link speed of a network device and intelligently adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance.Computers do not require Internet access all the time; neither do switches utilize all ports at all times. When a computer or network equipment is shut down, switches often remain on and continue to consume considerable amounts of power. With D-Link Green technology, D-Link switches can automatically detect link status and reduce power usage of ports that are idle. Computers or any connecting parties set to standby mode, however, will not provide significant power savings.D-Link Green verified switches have the ability to analyze the length of any Ethernet cable connected to them for adjustment of power usage accordingly. Fast, smaller than the model from just a couple of years ago
I had the same model from a few years ago, and this one is every bit as good, maybe better. I love these little switches because it allows me to connect one from the wall port, then it gives me 4 other gigabit ethernet ports to connect other devices to, like the satellite TV, the TV itself, the networked printer, anything that benefits from a connection to the network. There is no interface as none is required. No on/off switch, no software, no configuration is necessary. It's easy. Just connect it up and power it and everything works. Very surprised.
It's very small and compact but don't be fooled by its size. I checked speeds on all ports on 4 separate terminals. Not only were they the consistent but they did not and have not slowed down at all. I am impressed and plan to buy another. If you're tired of using laggy or unreliable WiFi then buy one of these and just plug it in. Fast little guy...good value.
While Ethernet is waning there are still times when it comes in handy. I replaced a 100 MBit switch with this one and the throughput soared. Unbelievably cheap but works great. Small, easy to transport
I just needed this for a project that needed only a few interfaces and was transportable. This is a very small switch and works great. Simple to use
Mine didn't come with instructions but a simple Google search helped me figure it out. You connect one cable from your router/modem then connect up to four devices of your choice to the remaining ports and boom done. Works great with gigabit internet speed

Great Upgrade
If you have high speed internet, make sure you upgrade from a 10/100 Fast Switch to a Gigabit Switch like this one. My speed jumped from average of 85 Mb per second to almost 350 Mb per second as soon as I plugged this in.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

works nice

needs better instruction manual
The unit is made to be used in several countries. But, the manual leaves out some important facts. There are 5 CAT6 female plugs on the unit. While they are marked 1 to 5, nothing is noted as to the route the plugs are to be used. Turns out, you use plug #1 to put in the lead from the source, and the other 4 plugs go to the units the signal is going to. Nothing in manual explains which plug is for what. When you plug in power to unit. a green light will show power is present and the unit is powered up. When you plug in other units, each of the sockets will have a light, showing the socket is occupied. So, you have 4 usable sockets. Great...now you can connect a CAT6 cable to a smart TV, to a smart DVD player, a TV streaming box, or possibly a Wi Fi extension repeater.
