You have a nice cushion between yourself and the floor and this couch like backing that you can very comfortably lean up against. I only had it for 2 days and already have taken 2 naps on this. I strongly recommend this item for anyone considering a kotatsu or just an interesting alternative to more tranditional american furniture. Our Pets even love snuggling with us on this.
