Activation Value remembers the Alamo, in this addition to its History Channel-branded line of historical strategy games. Players face eight major battles, culminating in the final fight for the famous fort itself. The action takes place in real-time, but in a switch from conventional RTS games, there are two separate phases of play. Battles are fought during the day, and repairs and preparations are made during the night.<br><br>Troops carry over from one mission to the next, so high casualties in one battle can make the next even more difficult. Along with the main maps, three hidden "change history" missions can be unlocked through skilled play. The game's units, weapons, and locales are designed to authentically represent the period, and the game features tie-ins with the History Channel's Remember the Alamo, including a detailed timeline and footage from the television program.
