L.A. Noire casts you in the role of a rookie officer working his way through the ranks of 1947's Los Angeles Police Department while dealing with corruption, politics, and scandal. Protagonist Cole Phelps will start his career working as a beat cop, patrolling the streets on foot, before eventually finding his way to the department's traffic, homicide, vice, and arson divisions. Instead of missions, you'll have to solve cases.<br><br>To crack each case, you'll need to visit the crime scenes, gather evidence, talk to witnesses, follow persons of interest, interrogate suspects, and when the need arises, engage in shootouts or brawls with the criminal element. Inspired by the hardboiled style of movies like Naked City, Chinatown, and L.A. Confidential, L.A. Noire features authentic clothing, cars, and items from the turbulent time period and more than 100 interior and exterior locales to visit.<br><br>The developer's Motion Scan technology, designed specifically for the game, captures subtle movement and gestures from the faces of professional actors. This technology plays a key role during the questioning process, where you'll need to study the suspects' faces and behavior along with their statements to sort out the lies from the truth. In total, more than 50 hours of dialogue were recorded for the game.<br><br>The "Complete Edition" adds all of the previously released downloadable content cases, including: the "Reefer Madness" and "Then Naked City" Vice cases, the "A Slip of the Tongue" and "The Consul's Car" Traffic cases, and the "Nicholson Electroplating" Arson case.

    A very nostalgic and enticing game

    I am a very nostalgic person of significant age but never drove the cars featured in the game. It is very accurately done of both vehicles and buildings. Gameplay is not too difficult. It has led me to play for many hours at a time! It has a nice free roaming design so that I can explore and drive the various vehicles as well as search for various items like landmarks, golden reels, and such. Downloadable content is integrated into the game and flows along with the other scenarios.

    Awesome story&game play

    This game is so sweet I'm very happy I purchased I watch a lot of TV shows that are like this. Feels like I'm playing a TV show_ but game. Defiantly worth!!!

    IF YOU PASSED ON L.A. NOIRE THE FIRST TIME, DON'T PASS ON IT AGAIN!

    This is an old game, but if you are looking for a good game to play until the next greatest thing comes along this will keep you tuned! The game succeeds as a brilliant new type of video game narrative. L.A. Noire floors you out of the gate! There is some repetition in the game which can make it seem like a slow starter. However, the game is a winner, no doubt, thanks to its attention to detail and excellent character interaction. L.A. Noire's absorbing character dialogue, investigations and cool sense of style make it an unforgettable journey through the seamy side of Los Angeles in 1947.
