He’d already upgraded the MBP OEM SSD with a 3rd party 2TB SSD, but unfortunately he didn’t keep the original Apple OEM SSD drive. So I needed an Apple original OEM SSD for the usual reason, to be able to update that 2015 MBP firmware in order to update to MACOS Monterrey.

Because I had upgraded my original SSD to a 3rd party SSD, I was unable to upgrade my mid-2015 MBP to macOS Monterey. Installing this Apple original SSD allowed me to complete the upgrade. I could then switch in the upgraded part again. I intend to hold onto this part in case Apple upgrades continue to not work for 3rd party SSD's in the future. My experience with tronicscenter was excellent and I would not hesitate to use them again.
