    "EXODUS - A Journey Out Of The Theater"

    I've been "in-the-business" for over 50 years, (as a film maker DP, Cinematographer, Producer, etc.) and my mother was a professional actress from 1915. I am a big fan of Ridley Scott and really like most of his movies, but I have to say that "Exodus" was one of his worst, if not his worst. The special effects and costumes were great, but the continuity was terrible, and so was the editing, the writing, the acting, the music, and especially casting. In fact, that is Mr. Scott's weakest point, the casting. Most of the actors did NOT fit the rolls at all, and I could also say the same about a few of his past films.. The best things about the movie was the spectacle and the 3D. But, you cannot make a successful film on those things alone. It was so poorly written, and the continuity so ...

    Excellent 3D Effects, but not a great epic

    Hardly a remake of the epic Cecil B. DeMille film starring Charlton Heston, this film depicts the 10 Plagues as just a random series of coincidences that befell the Egyptians. Viewers may be offended by the liberties taken by the writer and producer as the film departs from the biblical source material constantly. At nearly 3 1/2 hours long it can just be ponderous at times. The 3D effects are excellent. I don't think the film was originally shot in 3D, but was post-production converted. Usually this technique results in a flat 3D effect that looks like a diorama, but the effects here are really good. I'd only give the movie 2 stars, but raise it one more star for the excellent 3D effects.

    Good retelling...

    I liked it... The only thing odd was the representation of the Angel of the Lord, as a cherub boy... really just a harking back to the innocence of the angel images of old.

    Exodus: Gods and Kings

    This is a great movie. The story line was engaging and the actors were great. The 3D was really good and there was little or no ghosting at all. We really enjoyed it.
