Thought provoking .
I wanted to watch Chernobyl again after seeing it a few years ago . It has been on my mind ever since . It’s such a terrible accident that will cause issues for thousands of years to come in that area and probably beyond human kinds time on the planet . Why are governments and countries around the world still building nuclear power stations ? Awful to think how we are treating the planet and any future life on it .

A Diaster than we need to learn from.
This is a very well assembled account and documentary of the Russian nuclear plant disaster near Chernobyl that happened in 1996 and if you are interested in getting an in-depth and unbiased view of the tragedy then these 5 hours will give you that. However, because of the nature of the subject and aspects that had to be carried out, there are many scenes that some people may find distasteful. All in all, very well acted and portrayed but I wouldn't consider it enjoyment to watch because of the destruction and loss of life. Let's just hope that this incident and it's reasons will be learn for generations to com.

i really enjoyed this DVD it had great reviews and i wasnt dissapointed in the least i thought it was brilliant

The truth is stranger than fiction, and even more terrifying!
I wrote a lengthy review of this 5-part mini-series but it did not save. All I can say now is that the reason I am bothering again, albeit with more brevity, is because this really is superb. Watch this from start to finish. You will not be disappointed. And I defy you not to shed a tear or two at some point during the viewing. Heroism and the flawed Soviet system wide open for everyone to see. Truly spectacular and terrifying.

A must watch dvd!!
I'd recommend this dvd it's an amazing watch, wasn't really sure what to expect but I couldn't leave it I had to watch the two dvd, s in one sitting, very very good, it'll certainly make you think alot about what went on and the cover up that was made by the Russians over it. Excellent!!

Absolutely absorbing
This is brilliant. An excellent insight into the effects the Chernobyl nuclear disaster had on the workers, the surrounding community, and further afield. Stunning to learn how the seriousness of it was trivialised at the time. Great performances from the lead characters- definitely worth watching.

Gripping and eye-opening drama
This is an insightful and eye-opening series about an infamous and well-known historical event. It tells a story of human courage and also weakness under a regime that habitually liked to cover up inconvenient truths. Well acted and written and based on real events and testimony, and culminating in a dramatic courtroon scene. The human side to this story is well told as well.

An excellent watch
A realistic and gripping account of how the Chernobyl disaster unfolded, depicting both real and fictional characters, showing how the true horror and scale of the disaster played out, the sacrifice of the initial responders and the liquidators and how the Soviet machine attempted to cover up and minimise the scale of the incident. A compelling watch.

Best TV series ever
Absolutely loved this series. Dark, engaging, fascinating, human and deeply scary. What could possibly go wrong when humans are put under pressure and afraid to question the poor decisions of their bosses?
