    As enthralling as the original broadcasts

    I enthusiastically watched most of this series when it was first broadcast. Watching the complete series on the DVD in the order of their broadcast dates was even more enjoyable than waiting for and watching each episode on TV. This program is what sparked my interest in cosmology. Fortunately, they included on the DVDs updated info over what the broadcasts stated. Considering how much knowledge has been gained since their broadcasts, and how our understanding of cosmic events has improved over the years, they weren't off by much when this was made. This is a series that I expect to watch and enjoy again periodically now that i have this set of disks.

    A history of reality for the past 14 bllion years.

    Carl Sagan was awesome in his understanding and ability to explain reality; past, present, and future. This collection has changed my life beyond words, and the video & audio quality is superb. The entertainment value is also excellent, as it engages the mind and spirit. This program should be required classroom education in all school systems, at all grade levels; and for adults as well.

    Profound and More Relevant than ever

    This came in excellent condition and great packaging. I was inspired to see this as I'd heard of it, but missed it when it came out so many years ago. "The Pale Blue Dot" clip on YouTube was very inspiring, and this series adds even more. This is absolutely worth watching over and over again. Not exactly the meaning of life, but very much about our place in the universe, as best we can tell. Sagan was a master of explanation.

    Thought provoking, excellent narration, beautiful music.

    Such an excellent thought provoking series, Carl Sagan’s insights and explorations are grounding as well as educational. It doesn’t matter that this series was created with older cinamatic technology, its content more than makes up for its lo-res video. If you have the book, even better. You may even find the soundtrack on vinyl occasionally on ebay. Recommended.

    Carl Sagan version of COSMOS - excellent

    I've got both the new COSMOS with Niel DeGaus Tyson and the old with Carl Sagan. The old version simply blows the doors off of the new version. It has Carl Sagan 10 years later updating some of the presentation with more current information. The new version will go to the back of the DVD cabinet and be replaces by the old Carl Sagan version. I'm really glade I changed versions and highly recommend it to others.
